The question of whether GTA 6 would be available on PC at launch has been debated for quite some time. Fans of Rockstar games have noted the studio’s historical reluctance to release previous games on PC on the same day as consoles, as well as its volatile relationship with the modding community over the years. Nonetheless, some hoped that a game as big as GTA 6 would be a watershed moment for the studio’s PC gaming attitudes, only to have those hopes dashed by today’s news.
That said, none of this means that GTA 6 will never be released on PC, as big Rockstar games usually do. But when it comes to how long PC gamers will have to wait for what could be one of the biggest games of the decade, Rockstar is keeping quiet for the time being.
The first trailer for GTA 6 was released today, despite being scheduled for tomorrow morning. Its official debut occurred after the trailer unexpectedly leaked on social media, with Rockstar quickly acknowledging the leak and posting the official version. We’ve already compiled a list of reactions to the trailer from across the games industry, and more are still coming in.
