After a leak, Rockstar officially released the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI.

The Grand Theft Auto VI teaser was officially unveiled by Rockstar Games a short while after it appeared on social media. The trailer, which you can view below, also verifies that Grand Theft Auto VI is the game’s current title and that it will be released in 2025. A precise date of release was not disclosed.

The trailer also confirms that it is set in Vice City, with a large sign – not a huge surprise for those who have been following the series, but exciting nonetheless. In addition to numerous quick shots of crime, we see TikToks and live streams, implying that social media will play an important role in this game.

It all happens while Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” plays in the background, fitting for the numerous car-related crimes we see. And, true to the Florida setting, alligators can be found in places they shouldn’t be.

It concludes with a glimpse of Lucia and a male character who appear to be lovers and partners in crime. “The only way we’re going to get through this is if we stick together and work together,” Lucia says at one point.

In November, Rockstar announced that the trailer would be released in “early December,” leaving the video game industry waiting with bated breath. Confirmation came on December 1 when Rockstar revealed the trailer would be available tomorrow, December 5, but the release was pushed up as a result of the leak.
